NIS-2 Timeline

From the end of 2025, the NIS 2 Directive will oblige over 30,000 companies and organizations in Germany to implement comprehensive cybersecurity measures across all sectors: These include systematic risk management, extensive reporting and verification obligations to the BSI as well as regular audits and training. The scope of application has been significantly expanded compared to NIS-1 - in addition to traditional KRITIS operators, numerous "particularly important" and "important" institutions from almost all sectors of the economy are now also affected.

NIS-2 concentrates the cyber security requirements into seven key areas in order to strengthen the resilience of operators and facilities.
